How to prevent cystitis

  • Go to the toilet to urinate as soon as you need to

  • If you tend to get cystitis after sex, it might help to go to the toilet before and after sex
  • Some women find drinking cranberry juice helps prevent cystitis attacks. Studies have shown that proanthocyanidins (PACs) found in cranberries prevent bacteria from sticking to the cells that line the bladder, thus helping to encourage a healthy urinary system. 11,12.
